โครงการวิจัยการรักษาแผลแมงกะพรุนด้วยผักบุ้งทะเล ทีมาของโครงการวิจัย ผักบุ้งทะเลเป็นพืชสมุนไพรไทยที่รู้จักกันอย่างแพร่หลายว่ามีฤทธิ์ในการรักษา พิษจากแมงกะพรุน ทำให้แผลหายเร็ว และช่วยลดอาการอักเสบได้ดี แต่ในตำราการแพทย์แผนปัจจุบัน ยังไม่เป็นที่ยอมรับมากนัก เนื่องจากยังไม่มีงานวิจัยทางวิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อยืนยันผลดังกล่าว ทางคณะเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลร่วมกับ กรมแพทย์ทหารเรือ จึงได้มีโครงการศึกษาการใช้ผักบุ้งทะเลในการรักษาแผลจากแมงกะพรุน เพื่อทดสอบดูว่าการใช้ผักบุ้งทะเลร่วมกับการรักษาแผนปัจจุบัน จะให้ผลดีมากกว่าการรักษาแผนปัจจุบันอย่างเดียวหรือไม่ ซึ่งโครงการดังกล่าวได่รับทุนสนับสนุนการวิจัยจากคณะเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และได้ผ่านการพิจารณาของคณะกรรมการจริยธรรมการวิจัยของคณะเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน ของกรมแพทย์ทหารเรือ และของกรมพัฒนาแพทย์แผนไทย กระทรวงสาธารณสุขแล้ว ยาผักบุ้งทะเลที่ใช้ในการรักษา ยาผักบุ้งทะเลที่ใช้ในโครงการวิจัยเป็นยาที่สกัดจากผักบุ้งทะเลสด และนำมาเตรียมให้อยู่ในรูปของขี้ผึ้ง ซึ่งผลิตโดยคณะเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน และผ่านการทดสอบทางห้องปฏิบัติการ และผ่านการทดสอบในอาสาสมัครปกติแล้วว่ามีความปลอดภัย ไม่มีสารเจือปน ไม่ทำให้เกิดการแพ้ รายละเอียดและขั้นตอนการวิจัย ผู้ป่วยที่สมัครใจเข้าร่วมโครงการจะได้รับการตรวจรักษาและได้ยาโดยแพทย์ ตามมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ และผู้ป่วยจะได้รับยาขี้ผึ้งผักบุ้งทะเลไปทาในแผลบางส่วน เพื่อเปรียบเทียบว่าแผลส่วนที่ได้รับยาผักบุ้งทะล จะหายเร็วกกว่า และมีอาการเจ็บน้อยกว่าส่วนที่ไม่ได้รับผักบุ้งทะเลหรือไม่ ผู้ป่วยจะได้รับการตรวจติดตามโดยแพทย์จนกว่าแผลจะหาย ผู้ป่วยจะไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆในการเข้าร่วมโครงการ ผู้ที่สามารถเข้าร่วมโครงการวิจัยได้คือ ผู้ที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 18 ปีขึ้นไป และ ถูกพิษของแมงกะพรุนมาไม่เกิน 7 วัน สามารถมาพบแพทย์เพื่อติดตามการรักษาได้ ณ.โรงพยาบาลต่อไปนี้ โรงพยาบาลเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล กรุงเทพมหานคร…
